Planted at home 4/16/16

In my home garden I planted today:  2x HC; BC; AN; BA; RC; 2 xFL.
Also got some lettuce going there.  Cukes and sunflowers will be next.

Was going to get the F2s planted in community garden this weekend, but I've postponed that till next weekend due to my dad's passing away.   Hope they can hold on another week before they crawl out of the pots!

Light setup 3/31/16 ; transplanting to pots is done

Last night I got the last of the heirloom seedlings into 4" round pots.  The F2s are all in 3" square pots. Total tomato count: 115!  67 F2s and 48 heirlooms.  It's way more than I can plant outside but I'll give a bunch away to friends.   I can fit 75 plants (I think) at the community garden, and probably 16 at home if I push it.  That's 91.   If I put ~55 F2's in the comm garden, that's 20 heirlooms  there + 16 at home = 36 heirlooms.

Here's a better picture of the light setup as of today.  There's 4 peperomia cuttings in there too.

Transplanted F2s

On Sat. 3/19/16 I put the 66 F2s into 2 in square pots.  Just a mix of the miracle gro seed starter mix plus another brand seed starter mix,  which is pretty equivalent but sans fertilizer.

The F2s have been doing great under close illumination.   Not leggy at all, strong secondary leaves - ready to transplant.  Photo on 3/12/16.

Heirloom sowing and germination.

Ok 2026, here we go with heirloom frenzy again.  New this year:  Ananas Noire, Basinga, Long Tom, Roman Candle, Brandywine.   Again:  BC, CP, FL, GZ, HC, ML, OS, SS; and IR and the CPxIR F1.

Planted 3/5/16. Heat pad etc.

3/9/16 :  6 germ.

3/10/16:    16  @ 10 am:   22 @ 6 pm.

3/11/16:    32.

3/12/16:  36.   0/6 HC up.
3/13/16: 39. 1/6 HC.
3/14/16: 46.  3/6 HC up; at least 1 up for each variety.

F2 germination

Feb. 26: Planted 72 of F2 seeds indoors.
Mar. 1:  9 total germinated so far.
Mar. 2:  41 total germinated.  Lights on 16 hours/day.

Mar. 3: 62 germinated = 86%! By day 6.
Mar. 4.  Day 7.  65 germinated.  65/72= 90%.

Mar. 6.  Day 9.  68/72= 94%.
